Ghazal – my heart; a feverish pomegranate

A pomegranate.   A burnt from childhood.    A language of love.   A glory of perseverance.

A flower blossoms.   She is full of shyness.   She is crimson of blood.   Eve’s innocence.

A forbidden.    She closes her soft petals.   She bows down.   An angel’s trumpet.   A felony.

She holds  a hundred tales.    Who had foreseen what a delicate souvenir could become?

A slice where her resilience ends.   Another.    Another from where her stubbornness begins.

A crack in her ribs.    Her liberation or her abomination?    She spills.   A stained carpet.

A growing hunger.    An act of patience.    A need for preservation.   A rotten kiss on fingertips.

Those sick tales she had hidden to be perpetual.   A survival skill.   An ocean before a tide.

An aftermath.   A sour tooth.    Those tales in between.   They sustain.    Aide-mémoire.

My heart is a feverish pomegranate.   I have a tendency of staining every hand that loves me.
