Lisa Mary Armstrong – Moon of Aphrodite
What I don’t tell him
That all stars leave eventually
But the moon … it stays
Like a faithful companion
Holding onto its lonely sky
I write across each fleeting
Memory in a language
I don’t understand
Watch as the words reassemble
In the dark
When I come up for air
You recede like a wave
But I tell you again. Whisper it against
The cool marble of your skin
For an eternity.
