Submissions open 12th June - 12th July 2026​
 

                                           CATAMENIA COLLECTIVE PROJECT


This project aims to explore periods in all their glory and grief, fertility, infertility, hormones, cycles, moons, moods, rituals, myth, pain, emotion, illness, first periods, absent periods, pregnancy, ovulation, miscarriage & loss, synthetic hormones, PMT, PMDD,  menopause, dysmenorrhea, spotting, flooding, endometrioss, adenomyosis, fibroids, cysts, PMOS/PCOS - whatever you'd like to share.

We welcome collaborative pieces for this project as well as individual works including poetry, prose, hybrids, art, photography and visual works. We are looking for unpublished pieces, no AI.

We are also looking for reviews of poetry pamphlets/collections for this project, please get in touch if you have a book that fits this theme and you'd like it included or if you'd like to write a review.

The project will take place over the next 12-18 months and be published online in a PDF format available on our site.

This project will be run by Acropolis Editor-in-Chief Louise Mather and welcomes Zoe Davis as assistant editor. It will consist of a submission based process and collaborations.

​Note, you are welcome to submit to both categories. We love to hear from new and emerging writers and under-represented voices as well as established writers, please include a short bio and social media info. 

Please attach poetry as .doc or .docx. Please send artwork/photographs/hybrids in jpg format. If you can't attach a .doc/docx, please paste your work into the body of your e-mail.
 

Simultaneous submissions are accepted - just let us know if they are accepted elsewhere. We aim to reply to all submissions within three months of the submission deadline, if you haven’t heard back after that, please feel free to get in touch.
 

You retain the rights to any pieces published. Please credit Acropolis Journal Projects in any future publications. Unfortunately, we can't offer payment at this time. For this project we are looking for original pieces, collaborations and will be additionally sending invites out. We look forward to reading your submissions.​ ​
