Caroline Hannah – Prophet
When the fit
of prophesising gets
me I go at
full tilt across
the lawn,
carving your initials
into the long grass
like commandments
worn through
stone. Do not covet,
I'm reminded,
looking at the bare
skin. Mercifully,
it may be some time
before this madness
returns.
Caroline Hannah is a second-generation Londoner, influenced by her parents’ European refugee heritage. Her poetry often explores themes of memory, language and the roles we play. Previously published in Poetry as a Foreign Language.

Best of the Net finalist 2024 (thanks to @Acropolis Journal), three time nominee Helen Gwyn Jones started recording her world at the age of 8 when she bought a Brownie camera from her sister, something which has become a lifelong passion. A collector of the past (hers and other people’s) she likes nothing better than muted images of imperfection. Oft found poring over Welsh grammar books when not photographing drains or rapturing over rust. Recently published at Heimat, Feral, Transients, Lunar, Quibble, Paddler, Moss Puppy, Storyteller’s Refrain, Full House Literary.
