S. Reeson – Blunt Force Trauma: Work

the same day a home is ripped apart

I travel to pay penance to this land

that exists perpetually in drama

an unceasing conflict built of entropy and sand

I stand and stare in awe at every crime scene

that nature can persist despite our war

the damage both have made and caused in conflict

that moment I can finally command

I am alone and you again have gone

to fuel the repetition this demands

a point that took a stratum to cement

this broken world has now becomes a song

I repeat each day rebuilding without fear

that space that once again has become home

the credence of a lifetime’s damage done
