Zoe Davis – Personal Affects
It will pass.
Tender speak those mystic words
to me
again
bite the sun
venom-laced star
revelation unhinged
boxed mind open to intent
to do nothing
but reflect
clarity of thought provoked
when forbidden palm is placed
effete
brow to lip
worn flesh cupped
only half a picture shown
burn up
burn out
make space
fill altar cup with serous fire
black out
believe
this calendar of heartbreak
promise me
